During Lantern Festival, visitors experienced the vibrant beauty of the 44th Lantern Festival at Baotu Spring Scenic Area in Lixia district, Jinan. Hosted by the Jinan Cultural and Tourism Group and sponsored by China Construction Bank, this year's event dazzled with a stunning blend of traditional artistry and modern technology, leaving a lasting impression on both locals and tourists.
Guests were particularly impressed by the animatronic lanterns, which moved and interacted with viewers. "Many of the lanterns move, which was a pleasant surprise", said one visitor. With upgraded mechanical movements and projection technology, the lanterns came to life, creating an immersive experience. Highlights included the ''Lakefront Rain Lotus'', which blinked its eyes, and the stunning hexagonal palace lantern from Lanterns in the Distant Light, which rotated 360 degree, captivating viewers from all angles. The introduction of scent systems added another sensory layer, filling the air with floral fragrances that complemented the visual and auditory displays.

In collaboration with Zigong city, a leading producer of lanterns, the festival featured intricate designs combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. One notable lantern displayed a majestic dragon and embroidered spheres floating on water that symbolize vitality, harmony, and hope. Another display featured colorful lanterns inspired by the terracotta warriors, creating lively scenes from traditional Chinese operas and bringing ancient art to life.
Though the Lantern Festival has ended, its fusion of culture, technology, and festive spirit continues to resonate, keeping Lixia's vibrant atmosphere alive for the year ahead. (Edited by Li Qiaoxingzi)
