Industrial diversity boosts economic growth in Shandong's Guanxian

Guanxian county in Liaocheng city, Shandong, has been nurturing four major industrial clusters: high-quality steel plate and transportation facilities, textile and apparel, modern agriculture, and high-end equipment manufacturing.

The industry cluster for high-quality steel plate and transportation facilities is distinctive in Shandong, with an annual steel processing capacity of 16 million metric tons, ranking second in the province. It boasts the largest production capacity of color-coated plates in China and the fifth-largest globally. With an annual output of 3 million tons of transportation engineering facilities, it is the largest production and sales base for transportation facilities in the country.

The textile and apparel industry cluster is a distinctive industrial cluster in Liaocheng, with over 2,000 types of looms that produce over 1.5 million yarn spindles and 12 million knitted garments annually. It has a spinning capacity of over 300,000 tons and a weaving capacity of 60 million meters, forming an industrial value chain that combines spinning, twisting, weaving, printing and dyeing, and home textiles.

The modern agriculture industry cluster, relying on Guanxian's abundant agricultural resources, has developed soybean and wheat processing industries. It holds the first position in Shandong province for soybean protein single-line production capacity, with an annual production of 20,000 tons of seasoning products, and 113,000 tons of high-end pet food. Processing lingzhi mushrooms is steadily advancing towards 10 billion yuan ($1.36 billion).

The high-end equipment manufacturing industry cluster focuses on equipment manufacturing and bearing forging, covering various fields such as high-altitude intelligent operation platforms, special vehicles, and construction machinery. (Edited by Xie Zhenzhen)
