In Niji sub-district, in Caoxian county – located in East China's Shandong province – Party secretary Chen Guangjin is recognized for his commitment to both family and community leadership.

At the age of 66, Chen manages a large family of 20, all living together harmoniously under one roof.

Despite his responsibilities as a Party leader, he remains actively involved in daily family life, preparing meals and ensuring the well-being of his household.

"As Party secretary, my first responsibility is to lead my own family with care and unity before I can effectively guide the community," he said.

Chen places great importance on fostering mutual respect and understanding, especially in relationships between daughters-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He believes that true harmony is achieved when family members treat each other as equals, emphasizing a sense of kinship and compassion.

"When we treat one another like sisters or daughters, we create a strong, supportive family," Chen explained.

In his view, successful leadership begins at home. He asks: "If I cannot maintain peace within my own family, how can I resolve conflicts within the community?"

Chen's approach to leadership has had a positive influence both within his family and in the wider community.

His example underscores the importance of personal responsibility, open communications and unity in fostering both family and community development.

Zhang Haiyan, Party secretary of Niji sub-district, affirms that "family harmony is the cornerstone of a strong, united community". (Edited by Zhang Ying)
