Weihai Transon Heat Energy Equipment Co Ltd recently unveiled a new mechanical solution for an industrial adaptive smart air cooler system. This achievement was made possible in part by the support of the Weihai Torch Hi-tech Science Park's technology service specialist program. Through this initiative, the company has benefited from tailored guidance, financial support, and collaborations with research institutions.
The science and technology innovation bureau of the Weihai Torch Hi-tech Science Park introduced the program in May this year, aimed at providing tailored support to local tech companies. These specialists actively engage with enterprises, offering personalized services such as matchmaking technology projects, interpreting policies, and developing tailored solutions.
To enhance policy awareness among tech-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the specialists have organized over 20 training sessions, covering topics such as enterprise incubation, the recognition of high-tech enterprises, and the development of innovation platforms. These efforts have improved policy coverage and enterprise awareness.
Recognizing the complexities involved in technology project applications, the specialists have developed a comprehensive service plan to guide enterprises through the entire application process, from preparation to submission, thereby increasing the success rate and reducing innovation costs.
To bridge the gap between enterprises with technological needs and research institutions, the specialists have conducted numerous matchmaking events, bringing together companies and universities to foster collaboration. These efforts have resulted in 32 industry-academia-research cooperation projects, generating over 200 million yuan ($27 million) in technology contract transactions and saving enterprises more than 12 million yuan in taxes.
To date, over 40 technology service specialists have been deployed to provide personalized services to numerous tech companies, resulting in over 1,000 instances of customized support. These specialists have facilitated over 300 million yuan in loans to 70 enterprises and secured 11.9 million yuan in research and development subsidies for over 100 tech companies.
