Lixia district accelerates growth with major projects and economic innovation

Lixia district in Jinan is a hub of dynamic growth, with major projects advancing rapidly and industry platforms taking shape. This year, the district has prioritized constructing its "One Axis, Three Zones, and Multiple Parks" framework, positioning itself at the forefront of Jinan's transformation into a modern international city.

Key initiatives include the accelerated development of 80 major projects, such as the Central Plaza business district, and the commencement of 26 new ventures, including the Tonghui Capital Digital Economy Innovation Technology Park. These efforts are bolstered by 7.36 billion yuan (approximately $1 billion) in special debt funding and 50 million yuan from the central budget, providing a strong financial foundation.

Lixia district has also focused on cultivating a robust "headquarters economy", attracting top firms to headquarter at the state-owned enterprise office park in the Central Plaza. In less than a year, this initiative achieved a 90 percent occupancy rate, making it the fastest-developing commercial hub in the area.

Economic performance has been equally impressive. In the first half of 2023, Lixia district's GDP reached 121.6 billion yuan, reflecting a 6.8 percent year-on-year growth. The financial services sector contributed 35.7 billion yuan, representing 49.9 percent of Jinan's total financial output.

With its commitment to innovation, investment attraction, and urban development, Lixia is setting a standard for high-quality growth. Its efforts are not only reshaping the district but also playing a vital role in driving Jinan's modernization and economic success. (Edited by Li Qiaoxingzi)
