Officers from the economic crime investigation division are heading to crowded areas such as markets and busy streets to educate residents.

Using banners, posters, and leaflets, the officers explained the dangers of counterfeit money, its defining characteristics, and relevant laws. Demonstrations helped residents learn how to identify counterfeit notes effectively.

The sessions focused on the security features of the fifth series of Chinese banknotes, such as color-shifting ink, watermarks, and security threads.

Officers introduced the "look, touch, listen, and test" method, teaching residents how to tilt notes to observe color changes, feel for surface textures, and examine watermarks under light.

These hands-on demonstrations offered a clear and practical guide to recognizing counterfeit currency.

Residents were reminded of the importance of turning in counterfeit money immediately upon discovery and were warned against reintroducing it into circulation. The campaign also encouraged the public to report financial crimes and provide tips on counterfeit-related offenses.

Moving forward, the Caoxian county's public security bureau will partner with local police stations to establish a regular and widespread education system that will raise the public's awareness and strengthen cooperation in the fight against counterfeit currency. (Edited by Zhang Ying)
