The Dong'e County Federation of Trade Unions is fully committed in its duty to uphold the legitimate rights and interests of local workers. They have been building rest stops for truck drivers, assisting migrant workers in safeguarding their rights, and establishing cultural activity venues for the county's workers.
In an effort to help truck drivers rest after long journeys, the Dong'e County Federation of Trade Unions has spearheaded the construction of a rest area known as the "Drivers' Home". Here, drivers have access to amenities such as seating, water dispensers, first aid kits, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and chargers. So far, these rest areas have provided a homey warmth for over 700 truck drivers.
Focusing on safeguarding the rights of migrant workers, the Dong'e County Federation of Trade Unions has collaborated with a team of chief legal consultants, along with departments such as human resources, judiciary, courts, and procuratorates, to offer migrant workers one-stop services including labor protection, legal aid, and dispute resolution. Since 2023, legal assistance has been provided to 153 migrant workers, helping recover economic losses amounting to 3.3 million yuan ($454,000). (Edited by Li Weiwei)
