At an edible mushroom planting base in Zhanglou town, Chengwu county, Shandong's Heze, clusters of termite mushrooms recently emerged like spring shoots after rain, filling the air with a delightful aroma. Workers moved skillfully through the fields, harvesting the fresh and plump mushrooms. After harvesting, they were taken to the production workshop for root trimming, sorting, and refrigeration, creating a scene of abundant harvest everywhere.
Chengwu county has actively optimized the structure of its agricultural industry by introducing termite mushroom cultivation, which not only diversifies the vegetables available to residents but also paves a new path toward increasing income and prosperity.
Currently, the edible mushroom production area in Chengwu county covers 2 million square meters, with an annual output of 1,500 metric tons and a total output value exceeding 100 million yuan ($13.73 million). More and more farmers are joining the development of the edible mushroom industry, with these humble mushrooms unlocking the door to prosperity in the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas.
