Juye's cultural canvas: Celebrating agricultural heritage in Shandong
Under the warm winter sun, stepping into Longbu town, Juye county, Shandong province, one is greeted by vibrant murals related to agriculture. These murals vividly depict scenes of farmers plowing the fields and the hard work of the autumn harvest, cleverly incorporating the unique cultural symbol of traditional Chinese 24 solar terms, outlining beautiful pictures of the changing seasons and busy farming activities.
These murals ingeniously blend poetry with painting, adding a rich cultural heritage to the countryside, winning praise and acclaim from the local villagers. Many express that these murals not only add something beautiful to the rural environment but also serve as a bridge connecting the past and the present, allowing the essence of agricultural culture to be passed down through generations.
To further promote the sustainable development of excellent traditional cultures such as the "24 solar terms" agricultural culture, Juye county has delved deep into local human geography, agricultural resources, and customs, and built an agricultural culture experience hall. A number of workshops and agriculture display halls have been built for the public to experience traditional Chinese agriculture.
Additionally, Juye county periodically invites agricultural experts to guide farmers in agricultural practices based on the solar terms and simultaneously disseminate the latest agricultural policies and theoretical knowledge. (Edited by Xie Zhenzhen)
