Gaomi: Empower industrial workers
The Model Workers and Skilled Talents Cooperation and Exchange Conference was held in Gaomi, Weifang on Nov 30, attracting over 200 national craftspersons, experts, and high-level talents. The event featured experience sharing, keynote speeches, and activities like cooperation agreements, mentorships, and the appointment of "Talent and Intelligence Ambassadors".
During the conference, the team of experts visited over 30 companies like Himile Group and Sunvim Group, parks, and schools in order to foster cooperation through problem-solving and exchanging skills.
Gaomi boasts a strong industrial foundation, with three listed companies and 474 large-scale enterprises, and is a global hub for tire molds and home textiles. Gaomi has focused on creating skilled craftspersons through environments promoting growth and expanding career opportunities.

Su Zha, secretary of the Gaomi Federation of Trade Unions, highlighted that through initiatives like employee stock ownership programs and optimized compensation, industrial workers' wages have grown by 10 percent annually over the past five years. Gaomi has also strengthened school-enterprise cooperation, creating over 30 training centers and training more than 1,100 skilled workers annually.
Gaomi's high-quality development has come from partnerships with 10 academicians and over 20 national-level talents, as well as over 470 high-end talents and over 30,000 young talents in the past four years. (Edited by Lin Li)
