Dong'e county in Liaocheng city, Shandong province, is promoting the integration of senior care and medical services to improve access to healthcare.
In pursuit of this goal, the county has established medical care standards and regulations for home-based medical care. It offers assistance to disabled individuals among the participants of basic medical insurance for urban and rural residents through medical care, institutional care, and home care services.
To bolster the provision of integrated healthcare and senior care, Dong'e has invested in building seven integrated healthcare and senior care institutions, providing a total of 1,130 hospital beds and 846 senior care beds. Eleven senior care facilities are capable of delivering medical services to elderly residents.
Moreover, the county has introduced smart technology to enhance the quality of integrated healthcare and senior care services. Citizens can now access over 50 home care services by placing orders through their mobile phones.
Presently, Dong'e has conducted assessments for over 5,000 Alzheimer's patients who are 60 and over through family doctor contract services. Higher-level medical institutions have been urged to increase support for grassroots medical facilities to ensure that people have access to top-notch medical services right in their neighborhoods.
