In Mizhen town, Lingcheng district, Dezhou, a group of international students from Shandong University stepped into the heart of Chinese culture during a one-of-a-kind trip. They had a day of the sights, sounds, and crafts that make Chinese heritage so captivating.
The adventure began with dynamic performances, from martial arts to the graceful elegance of a cheongsam fashion show and the lively rhythm of dragon dancing. Not content to simply watch, the students jumped in and learned the basics of wielding staffs and the dragon dance under the guidance of skilled instructors.
But the magic didn't stop there. Workshops on traditional crafts like crocheting, sugar figurine blowing, and straw weaving turned curiosity into creativity, as students tried their hand at these intricate arts. Through it all, they discovered the patience and skill these crafts require.
More than just a cultural experience, the event offered a deeper connection. Through every movement and creation, the students felt the enduring spirit of Chinese traditions and were left with not just memories but a new admiration for the artistry and history woven into everyday life in China.
For these students, it was more than a cultural experience – it was a discovery and a chance to feel the beauty of a culture that continues to inspire across generations and borders. (Edited by Hu Kaili)
