In order to inherit the essence of traditional Chinese medicine and promote the culture of TCM, Gaocheng Fifth Experimental Primary School in Chengwu county, Heze city, Shandong, has introduced TCM culture into the campus to guide students in understanding the significance of traditional Chinese medicine and to strengthen their confidence in national culture.
Early in the morning, students arrive at the school's studio called the "herbal garden" within the campus. They identified Chinese herbs through observation, smell, and touch, and got to pick them. Subsequently, under the guidance of teachers, the children experienced the process of grinding and pounding herbs, made herbal sachets, and experienced the charm of traditional Chinese medicine culture up close.
TCM culture has a long history and is an important part of the country's excellent traditional culture. In recent years, Gaocheng Fifth Experimental Primary School in Chengwu has focused on developing distinctive courses on TCM culture.
By establishing the herbal garden studio, the school has created academic courses, and pushed the excellent traditional Chinese culture. This enhances labor practice skills, which enables students to establish an awareness of TCM health preservation, and boosts their confidence in national culture while enjoying the learning process.
