This year, innovative and energy-efficient key projects have become the driving force behind the economic growth of Dong'e county in Liaocheng, Shandong province. The county has been enhancing element guarantees, reinforcing departmental collaboration, and optimizing the business environment to expedite various key projects.

One such key project is with Shandong Pengsheng New Material, located in Dong'e Economic Development Zone, which specializes in high-end lithium battery anode materials and is currently collaborating with electric vehicle manufacturers such as BYD, Xpeng, and Li Auto.

"Beyond its extensive market potential, this project's multifunctional overhead crane robotic operating system boosts production efficiency by 30 percent, while the ring furnace reduces fuel consumption by over 20 percent. Both technologies are firsts in the country," said Song Chenxiao, the project leader.

In planning projects, Dong'e county targets major policy trends, national and provincial budget investments, and special treasury bonds, accumulating 154 policy-driven projects with a combined investment of 33.92 billion yuan ($4.68 billion). To advance these projects, the county has set up teams to ensure timely progression, secured funding, and issue resolution.

At present, all 15 provincial key projects and 24 municipal implementation projects have broken ground, reaching 112.1 percent and 108.6 percent of their yearly investment goals and exceeding the scheduled pace by 37.1 and 33.6 percentage points, respectively. (Edited by Li Weiwei)
