Fengcheng sub-district in Laiwu district, Jinan is pioneering a new model for resolving conflicts efficiently.
A new conflict mediation center has six sections such as a public reception room, a psychological counseling room, and a chief legal advisor's office. This center regularly mediates various disputes, including neighborly relations, family issues, and personnel conflicts.
To accurately address sources of conflicts, disputes are categorized into past issues, daily life problems, and governance challenges. A collaborative mediation approach is used to resolve conflicts early.
Additionally, five different mediation methods, such as combining online and offline approaches and emotional counseling, have been formulated. Eight service teams consisting of lawyers, local representatives, and volunteers ensure effective mediation.
This innovative model has successfully resolved 1,799 disputes this year, marking a significant step in modern grassroots governance. (Edited by Li Weiwei)
