Magical Red Sorghum debuts in Venice
The "Magical Red Sorghum" oil paintings series by Liu Tiefei, curator of the Red Sorghum Anti-War Museum in Gaomi city, Shandong, was hosted at the St. Vidal Exhibition Center in Venice, Italy on Nov 17. The 18 paintings captivated art lovers from around the world, with a constant flow of visitors praising the works.

The "Magical Red Sorghum" series has already received significant recognition, including the top prize at the 2021 International Landscape Painting Competition and a bronze medal at the 2024 Canada International Abstract Art Competition. Liu Tiefei's participation in this year's Venice Biennale, along with an invitation to the 36th São Paulo Biennale in 2025, makes him the first Chinese artist to have a shot at completing the triple crown of major international art exhibitions.

Maurizio Bortolotti, renowned critic and professor at the New Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, praised Liu for blending eastern philosophy with western culture for works that stand alongside Renaissance masterpieces.
