Government-backed platforms propel business growth in Longkou

Longkou's presence at the 2024 Yantai International Food (Prefabricated Dishes) Industry Expo showcased the city's agricultural excellence and thriving food processing sector. Premium local products, including dairy, meat, seafood, and dried fruits, captivated visitors eager to explore the region's high-quality offerings.

This success is a direct result of Longkou's broader efforts to cultivate a business-friendly environment and support rural vitalization. Through government-backed platforms, the city connects local enterprises to vital services such as bank-enterprise partnerships, production-sales matchmaking, and scientific innovation. These initiatives are not only helping the city's agricultural products expand into national markets but also contributing to the sustainable development of the region.

With rural vitalization at its core, Longkou has made substantial progress in its food processing and pre-made food sectors. The city's agricultural product processing output has reached 15 billion yuan ($2 billion), housing two listed companies and 25 major agricultural enterprises. These achievements contributed to Longkou's inclusion on the national list of demonstration counties for rural vitalization.

One standout exhibitor at the event was Lvjie, an apple vinegar producer based in Longkou. The company's stand saw a steady stream of visitors, especially elderly people and students interested in apple vinegar. Jia Bing, the company's brand manager, praised the support offered by government-organized exhibitions. "We didn't incur any costs, and the government provided a prime exhibition space and took care of everything from promotional videos to product placement," said Jia. "This opportunity allowed us to effectively promote our brand and products to a wider audience."

Looking forward, Longkou plans to continue supporting local businesses by arranging for more enterprises in the food processing sector to participate in major upcoming events, such as the 21st China International Agricultural Trade Fair. These initiatives are pivotal to expanding Longkou's brand recognition, broadening its market reach, and driving continued business growth in the region. (Edited by Hu Kaili)
