Ciyao town in Tai'an's Ningyang county is embracing the digital age, actively developing e-commerce sales models, and driving the local ginger industry forward.
Ningyang ginger benefits from fertile soil, abundant groundwater resources, and is a national geographical indication product. Its long history of cultivation has resulted in its fresh appearance and extra spiciness.
For a long time, villagers in Ciyao town struggled to expand their market and break through geographical limitations. It wasn't until the establishment of the Tai'an Nongyoupin Agricultural Professional Cooperative in 2021 that the situation began to improve.
The cooperative has established a comprehensive agricultural supply chain system that ensures the freshness of the ginger from harvesting to packaging to transportation, while also uniting markets and farmers.
"Our ginger is pre-ordered online half a month in advance. We have no worries about sales, and prices are guaranteed. It's so reassuring," said Gao Xiang, the cooperative's president. He added that with the help of e-commerce platforms and a well-developed logistics network, their ginger is now sold in major cities like Beijing and Shanghai.
Furthermore, the cooperative actively participates in community group buying businesses, deepening cooperation with e-commerce platforms like Meituan Selected and Taocaicai, expanding their sales channels. Ningyang ginger is soaring like an eagle into new markets. (Edited by Li Weiwei)
