Longkou Port, a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group (SPG) in Longkou, Yantai, has achieved a new milestone in soybean unloading. With a single shift processing 15,772 metric tons, it reached a record-breaking 67,389 tons in one day. This success highlights the port's use of smart upgrades and innovative solutions for operational excellence.
To meet tight schedules and heavy workloads, the grain storage team implemented a customized "one ship, one plan" strategy to optimize efficiency. By collaborating with production scheduling and marketing departments, the team tackled logistical challenges, streamlined workflows, and introduced environmental dust control measures, which laid the groundwork for this record-breaking accomplishment.
Integral to this success was the use of cutting-edge technology such as infrared thermal imaging devices that monitored cargo temperatures, ensuring high-quality standards and precise flow adjustments. When a bottleneck was identified in the valve feeding to the conveyor belt, the port was able to open it up quickly. This modification significantly increased grain throughput to over 580 tons per hour, setting a new standard for unloading efficiency.
The success solidifies Longkou Port's position as a leader in modern port logistics, demonstrating the power of smart upgrades to transform traditional industries. (Edited by Hu Kaili)
