In recent years, Dudian sub-district in the Binzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Shandong province, has integrated Party building into its growth, governance, and services, promoting high-quality economic and social development in the region.

"We must transform the political advantages of grassroots Party organizations into working advantages that could drive high-quality development, which will meet the aspirations of the people for a better life," said Wang Zhongxin, secretary of the Party working committee of Dudian sub-district.

The sub-district focuses on attracting investments and industrial economy, accelerating the construction and operation of projects such as Yinzuo shopping mall and the aerospace industry park; and its more than 100 Party members and cadres visited 6,375 enterprises to address their concerns and difficulties.

It has also established 21 Party and mass service centers as well as 132 Party branches to create a mediation platform, exploring governance paths for large communities that ensure safe and prosperous living.

Party branches, volunteer service stations, and social organizations are used by the sub-district in organizing its monthly "open house", and its "digital drop box" is a platform for listening to the people, gathering public opinion, and addressing public concerns. As of now, over 500 demands have been collected with a 100 percent resolution rate.

With the core focus on increasing public welfare, Dudian addresses the immediate difficulties faced by disadvantaged groups, and promotes the deep integration of grassroots Party building with social assistance.

For example, it has set up cafeterias for the elderly, communities in rural areas, and child-friendly brands, while offering activities such as charity haircuts, intangible cultural heritage classes and handicrafts. These efforts ensure quality care for children, the elderly, and the vulnerable, and begin a new chapter in serving the people. (Edited by Xie Zhenzhen)
