Weihai enterprise makes breakthrough in data IP registration

Shandong Zhongtian Yuxin Information Technology Co Ltd, located in the Weihai Torch Hi-tech Science Park in Shandong province, recently achieved a major milestone by obtaining the province's first national standard data intellectual property registration certificate for a set of monitoring data on pest identification for farmlands in Xinluwan town, Suichang county, based on a multimodal knowledge graph.

Following the confirmation of data ownership, the company signed an IP usage license agreement with Zhejiang Ruiyi Intelligent Technology Co Ltd stipulating a transaction amount of 550,000 yuan ($77,023), marking the country's first recorded data IP usage license transaction since the issuance of the new standardized data IP registration certificates by the China National Intellectual Property Administration.

"The data was obtained through more than a year of pest monitoring using a multimodal knowledge graph. Receiving the certificate has greatly boosted our confidence in utilizing data IP to drive business development," said Qiu Huixue, head of Zhongtian Yuxin, adding that the data will also provide the user with precise pest control guidance, enabling accurate pest identification and targeted, effective treatment.

Since the beginning of this year, Weihai Torch Hi-tech Science Park has encouraged enterprises to fully tap into their data IP resources and maximize the application of data IP in the financial sector, providing strong support for innovation and business growth. To date, enterprises in the park have obtained three data IP registration certificates, one of which has already been licensed for use, while the other two are currently exploring data IP pledge financing.
