County in Shandong pursues development of wood industry
In recent years, Caoxian county in East China's Shandong province, has effectively utilized its local resources to develop a thriving private economy centered on wood processing.
At Sanxing Wood Products Co Ltd in the county, workers are busy these days processing traditional long drums for export them to South Korea.
"Our main product is the long drum, primarily used for performances in South Korea. We supply semi-finished products, which are completed there with drumheads and finishing touches before sale," explained Xu Guangsheng, manager of the company.
The firm runs a foreign trade factory producing high-quality items like beehives, furniture boards and long drums. With an annual production capacity of 40,000 pieces and revenue reaching 1 million yuan ($140,610), it benefits from a robust order pipeline.
Currently, Qingguji town in Caoxian county hosts 89 wood industry enterprises, producing thousands of products across eight categories.
The goods are exported to over 10 countries, generating an annual output value of 300 million yuan and creating over 3,000 jobs.
