Gaomi: Cultural tourism invigorates holiday economy
During the 2024 National Day holiday, the cultural and tourism market in Gaomi, Weifang, Shandong revitalized the local economy with large crowds pouring in for numerous cultural events.
At the Red Sorghum Film and Television City, traditional events like the Dragon King Lift and Wine God Sacrifice, along with intangible cultural heritage showcases and Gaomi Maoqiang performances drew up to 17,000 visitors in a single day.

Wang Lin, a tourist from Qingdao, said, "This is my first time in Gaomi. I visited Mo Yan's former residence, enjoyed the performances, and tasted Gaomi baked buns, making this holiday even more meaningful."
Leading up to the holiday, Gaomi launched events featuring handmade product promotions and e-commerce live broadcasts. These activities boosted economic activity and allowed the community to enjoy the festive season.

Gaomi also organized a paper-cutting art exhibition, a Red song competition, and cultural activities for the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China that provided a look at the historical revolution and intangible cultural heritage. (Edited by Lin Li)
