National Day saw Dong'e county in Liaocheng, Shandong province, once again becoming a hotspot for tourists.
Renowned for its Ejiao, a traditional Chinese medicine made from donkey hide, Dong'e has actively explored the value of its industrial tourism resources, transforming factories into popular scenic spots.
The Ejiao World Experience Factory stands out as a prime example. During the National Day holiday, this factory not only offered visitors a deeper understanding of Ejiao's production process but also provided them with an immersive sensory experience of the medicine.
In addition to industrial tours, a diverse range of family-friendly tours, educational excursions, cultural experiences, and team-building activities have collectively ignited a fervor in Dong'e's National Day tourism market.
With a focus on the Ejiao industry and complemented by various attractions along the Yellow River, the county has established a wellness-focused cultural tourism brand, drawing in large numbers of visitors.
In the first half of this year, Dong’e welcomed over 1.8 million visitors, generating over 1 billion yuan ($141.51 million) in tourism revenue, year-on-year increases of 26 percent and 37 percent, respectively. (Edited by Li Weiwei)
