To further tap into the water-saving potential of water-intensive facilities, the Weihai Municipal Water Resources Bureau in Shandong is using water resources more efficiently through a third-party water usage evaluation institution on 20 qualified enterprises.

The third-party institution has already started on-site testing at these enterprises and is expected to complete the evaluations by the end of the year.

Water usage testing is fundamental to water conservation, and surveys and monitoring can help in understanding the condition of the water supply network and the water usage relationship within the unit. By analyzing the current water usage, the evaluations can identify areas for improvement and provide specific solutions to reduce water consumption.

To ensure the smooth implementation of the water usage evaluations, the Weihai Municipal Water Resources Bureau has conducted extensive policy publicity. The bureau's staff also coordinates with various stakeholders to address any challenges and obstacles encountered during the process.

Moving forward, the Weihai Municipal Water Resources Bureau will leverage the results of the water usage evaluations in various aspects, including annual water use planning adjustments, applications and reviews for water-saving projects, and the evaluation of water-saving incentives. This will help companies reduce costs and use water more efficiently. (Edited by Yang Yingxue)
