Grid management in Shandong enhances low-level governance
Innovative grid management models are being developed for Dongguan subdistrict of Kuiwen, Weifang, Shandong province to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of community grassroots governance.
Taking the Weiwan community in Dongguan subdistrict as an example, the community has a large number of migrant workers. Shortcomings in grid governance are seen in that the community has found it challenging to garner information about key individuals.
Faced with this challenge, Dongguan subdistrict is using a three-tier grid governance system, while in the Weiwan community, officials have set up six large grid areas, 121 building-level small grids, and 386 unit-level micro-grids. These efforts advance the "weaving" of grids down to the unit level and root governance efforts in each household. They continue to deepen grid-based service management, which anchors community governance at its core and extends efforts to the lowest level.

Simultaneously, Dongguan subdistrict is focusing on the construction of the micro-grid staff team, implementing the collection of neighborhood opinions, and implementing a points-based management system. The subdistrict is also continuously exploring incentives for micro-grid staff.
Through progressive steps and comprehensive resource integration, Dongguan subdistrict is further activating its talent pool, unleashing the vitality of elements, and empowering low-level social governance. (Edited by Du Xiaping)
