To improve patient experience, the hospital has restructured its outpatient departments. Instead of the traditional division by internal medicine and surgery, the new patient-centric layout has eight specialized medical centers established for oncology, breast health, pediatrics, ophthalmology, and more. This integrated approach allows patients to complete most of their diagnostic tests and treatments in one place.

Furthermore, the hospital is working to extend quality healthcare to rural areas. By integrating information systems and sharing resources with township hospitals, the hospital ensures that patients in remote areas have access to expert consultations and diagnostic services. Healthcare providers in township hospitals can now access patient records and test results from the municipal hospital, improving the quality of care provided to rural residents.

Through initiatives such as remote consultations and reagent sharing, Weihai Municipal Hospital is addressing the challenges rural healthcare facilities face like limited diagnostic capabilities. These efforts are part of the city's broader commitment to ensuring that all residents have access to high-quality healthcare. (Edited by Yang Yingxue)
