In Kuiwen district, Weifang, Shandong province, efforts are underway to foster the healthy development of children through a unique "one-meter perspective", creating a comprehensive environment that nurtures their growth.
The initiative includes the development of child-friendly demonstration communities and neighborhoods, steadily progressing towards the goal of becoming a more child-friendly city.
To enrich its variety of child-friendly spaces, Xishangyu community is leading the way with a focus on child-friendliness by developing the Xiyuli child-friendly neighborhood.
Within the Xiyuli child-friendly neighborhood, a range of recreational facilities cater to children, including a cultural corridor designed to enhance their knowledge. Safety measures, such as anti-slip treatments and padded corners, demonstrate a commitment to ensuring the well-being of children.
The Jiankang Street community in Kuiwen is also dedicated to creating a child-friendly environment. The community has established service areas like a health theater, a serene study room, and an intangible cultural heritage experience space. By reimagining child-friendly squares, child health stations, and the children's library, the community is effectively expanding children's spaces for growth and improving their developmental surroundings. This initiative aims to cultivate a more livable, learnable, enjoyable, and playful child-friendly 15-minute living circle. (Edited by Du Xiaping)
