Long-awaited response improves livelihoods in Shandong's Linqu

With the frequent comings and goings of increasing numbers of residents and personal vehicles, the road in front of the community gate was seeing increased wear and tear, which resulted in congestion and potential traffic safety hazards.

A similar thing happened to the floor tiles in the community square. In response to such problems, Yeyuan sub-district took actions aimed at 13 livelihood issues in five categories, which were collected in May after extensively surveying residents.

The dragnet investigation and rectification of road problems was carried out following those actions. To date, the sub-district has completed the transformation and upgrading of nine main roads, including Longgang Road, Baota Street and Yeyi Road, repaired 25 damaged pavements and carried out maintenance on more than 200 street lights to ensure convenience and safety when people are out and about in the neighborhood.

"There is no end to the work. Rather, there exists a continuous series of new starting points. In the future, we will continue addressing residents' livelihood issues in order to increase their sense of happiness and security," said an official of Yeyuan sub-district. (Edited by Fu Qi)
