Hedong advances specialty industries, green development
In recent years, Hedong district in Linyi city, Shandong province has tailored green development to local conditions. The district is promoting the cultivation of specialty agricultural products and ecological farming projects, and driving high-quality agricultural development.
In Gejiazhaizi village, "rice and frog co-cultivation" raises frogs to eat pests and fertilize fields, and is expected to generate 600,000 yuan ($84,180) for the village by October.

The district's geographic advantages are helping it restructure agriculture and build a modern urban farming hub called the Tangquan Yungu Agricultural Science Park. New crops like celery from Zhengwang town and specialty products like pears and peaches from Bahu and Tangtou are boosting incomes.

Traditional industries like lotus root and strawberries now coexist with innovative farming practices such as the cultivation of sika deer and frogs, revitalizing sustainable agricultural growth in the region.
