Enhancing living environments boosts residents' happiness
Kuiwen district, located in Weifang, Shandong province has found new ways to enhance urban governance capabilities while placing the needs of the community at the forefront.
Kuiwen has implemented a series of initiatives to enhance the environment, including transplanting 26,000 square meters of mature greenery, the rejuvenation of 1.5 kilometers of verdant corridors, and the restoration of more than 2,000 square meters of deteriorated road surfaces.
Over the past year, Kuiwen has integrated urban revitalization efforts with a meticulous focus on activating and utilizing existing parklands, green spaces, and underutilized areas, and concurrently intensifying the development of park landscapes and micro-environments. With an investment exceeding 10 million yuan ($1.4 million), the district has created eight pocket parks and replaced over 300,000 seasonal flowers on roads in order to cultivate an idyllic residential ambiance.

Presently, traversing the thoroughfares and lanes of Kuiwen reveals a landscape of pristine elegance.
Additionally, Kuiwen district has demonstrated a keen focus on addressing the needs of the community, swiftly responding to and resolving issues encountered by residents. In the previous year alone, the district gathered and acted upon over 700 public suggestions, successfully coordinating the resolution of more than 1,000 concerns ranging from heating and gas supply to municipal services.
