Students and faculty from the Belgorod Institute of Food Science at Dezhou University embarked on a cultural immersion trip to Huiwangzhuang town in Lingcheng district, Dezhou city. The visit provided a unique opportunity for participants to experience local traditions firsthand.
A major highlight of the trip was a grape-picking excursion where participants rolled up their sleeves and harvested fresh grapes straight from the vine. This hands-on experience allowed them to appreciate a fruit that is grown locally.
In addition to grape picking, the group delved into the art of making Fenggao, a traditional cake that's a local delicacy. Faculty and students participated in the preparation, from shaping the dough to sprinkling it with sugar. This immersive experience offered a deeper understanding of Chinese culinary traditions.
"As a first-time visitor to Lingcheng, I've been truly captivated by the local experiences," said an associate professor from the Belgorod Institute of Food Science at Dezhou University. "From grape picking to making Fenggao, every activity has been enriching and unforgettable."
