A recent conference co-organized by H3C, an information technology solution provider, and Longkou in Yantai, Shandong province, focused on the role of AI-generated content (AIGC) in driving industrial development. The event marked the official launch of Turing Town, the first of its kind in a county-level region in China and the only such place in Shandong province.

Longkou, known for its strong industrial base in high-end chemical materials, aluminum, and automotive parts, is well-positioned to leverage AI for industrial advancement. The Turing Town project aims to elevate entire industrial chains through AI, with plans to establish a 1000P-capacity computing power service center, set to be operational by 2024.

Turing Town will help Longkou accelerate the digital transformation of enterprises and establish industrial internet platforms, thereby giving its industries a competitive edge.

In collaboration with H3C, Longkou will establish the northern branch of the China Academy of Industrial Internet. This branch will act as an "industrial brain," providing real-time management, monitoring, and analysis of regional industrial development. This initiative aims to identify industry strengths, address weaknesses, and chart future development paths, accelerating the creation of a modern industrial system.

To further support digital transformation, Longkou plans to introduce research institutions and create a joint innovation center, focusing on increasing production efficiency and product quality. Already, 10 enterprises have completed digital transformation, with efficiency gains exceeding 30 percent. Partnering with top educational institutions like Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University, Longkou will also work on cultivating high-end management and technical talent, fostering a strong foundation for industrial digitalization.

Longkou's collaboration with H3C will also extend to enhancing urban management through IoT and AI technologies, which will improve city governance by making it more responsive and precise.

Looking ahead, Longkou aims to develop Turing Town into a nationally recognized hub for the AIGC industry and talent cultivation, as well as a key site for implementing national science and technology strategies. As the project progresses, Longkou is set to lead in digital transformation, driving a new era of high-quality regional economic development. (Edited by Hu Kaili)
