The inauguration ceremony of the Dezhou International Land Port was held in Pingyuan county in Dezhou, Shandong province, on Aug 9. Dezhou Mayor Zhu Kaiguo announced the departure of the first train from the port and made an on-site presentation to key foreign trade enterprises in the city.
The Dezhou International Land Port includes four operational areas for coal, bulk cargo, warehousing and customs supervision, respectively. The customs supervision facility was inspected and approved for operation on July 22. Export goods can now benefit from "one-time declaration, one-time inspection, and one-time release" at this facility, allowing direct transport to ports for loading and shipment overseas.
Pingyuan county will further enhance the functions of the inland port, build an information platform, initiate supporting projects such as cold chain logistics and bonded logistics areas, and strengthen cooperation with major enterprises and ports.
Yan Huanong, director of Dezhou Customs, explained that with the opening of the customs supervision facility, the inland port now has true port functionality. Export goods can enjoy one-stop services in Pingyuan, including customs declaration, inspection, booking, storage and transportation, packaging, distribution and information transmission.
The predecessor of the Dezhou International Land Port was the Jinan Railway (Pingyuan) Logistics Park built by Pingyuan in cooperation with Jinan Railway Bureau. With a service radius covering 200 kilometers and an annual cargo throughput exceeding 10 million metric tons, the park has become one of the nation's 100 strategic railway loading points and one of two coal reserve bases in the province.
