Weihai Torch Hi-tech Science Park, located in Weihai, East China's Shandong province, has been working to promote the development of brands and standards to improve the quality of management and innovative development.

In the first half of this year, major fishing gear brands across the country engaged in fierce competition. However, Guangwei Group, based in the science park, has managed to lead in sales without resorting to price wars. During this year's June 18 shopping carnival, Guangwei's fishing gear achieved sales of 30 million yuan ($4.2 million) due to its strong branding and high quality.

Since the beginning of the year, the Weihai Torch Hi-tect Science Park has been promoting branding and standards to drive high-quality innovation and development. Focusing on leading industries such as medical devices, electronics and new materials, the science park has established a high-end brand cultivation pool and launched a number of projects to enhance quality, aiming to create a brand echelon supported by high-end brand enterprises and premium product bases, thus improving industrial quality and efficiency.

The high-quality medical device production base in the science park is one of the largest medical device industry clusters in the country. Led by industry leaders like WEGO Group, the base covers 21 major series of products, including medical polymer materials, diagnostic reagents, and orthopedic implant materials. With a focus on quality and standards, WEGO Group has played a pivotal role in setting national, industry and international standards, recently making the prestigious 2024 Shandong Most Influential Brands List.

This year, the science park has established the city's first one-stop service platform for high-end medical device quality infrastructure to cater to innovative service demands. (Edited by Yang Yingxue)
