Zhuyuanzi village in Dawangzhuang town, Laiwu district, Jinan, has pioneered fish farming in greenhouse facilities, creating a new landscape in the fishery industry while increasing farmers' incomes.
Known as the "Fishery Standard Park", the project covers 78 mu (5.2 hectares), with 70 mu dedicated to water surfaces capable of breeding 30,000 to 50,000 carp. An additional eight mu host two greenhouse facilities with 26 enclosed buckets each, nurturing high-end fish species, including koi and sturgeon, totaling 4,000 kilograms.
The innovative high-density water circulation aquaculture system and insulation oxygenation equipment ensure the year-round healthy growth of fish fry. The anticipated annual output value is 1.2 million yuan ($168,138), with profits of 500,000 yuan, contributing an additional 200,000 yuan to the village's collective income.
"The project is still in the exploratory stage. We set up the greenhouses because they have good insulation in winter. Through this innovative project, we aim to infuse new vitality into rural vitalization," said Zhang Yanyong, a member of the village's Party branch.
