A vibrant half marathon kicked off in Chengwu county, Heze, Shandong province, on Aug 10, enriching citizens' lives and bringing out the positivity in them.
Attracting over 2,000 participants from around the nation, the event was a testament to people’s strength and perseverance. Wang Junxia, the 5,000m gold medalist at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, also graced the occasion to honor the victors.
The marathon track bridged the ancient site, which originated in the Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-256 BC), with the thriving new town. Running along the Wenting Lake, runners conveyed the city's liveliness and warmth to the world in a distinctive manner.
The competition not only gave young people a chance to witness a unique blend of tradition and modernity, but also promoted healthy lifestyles.
Chengwu county remains steadfast in integrating sports and culture to foster a healthy community, contributing to the development of a more harmonious and beautiful county. (Edited by Chen Huang)
