Gubei community in Jingyuan subdistrict, Huancui district, Weihai, has launched a summer care program to address the childcare challenges faced by dual-income families in the area. The initiative is part of the community's efforts to provide grassroots support for families in need.

The program focuses on the all-round development of children, encompassing moral character, intelligence, physical health, aesthetics, and labor skills. A wide range of activities has been organized to provide a safe and enriching summer vacation for children, giving parents peace of mind. Since its launch, the program has successfully conducted over 30 special activities, receiving positive feedback from both children and parents.

In addition to providing a nurturing environment for children, the summer care program also offers valuable opportunities for young volunteers. Gubei community encourages young people to get involved in community governance, enabling them to contribute through activities such as environmental cleanup and summer care services. This fosters a sense of responsibility and commitment among the younger generation.

The successful implementation of this summer care project has not only benefited children by providing them with growth opportunities and enhancing their skills but has also alleviated the childcare burden on dual-income families. Moving forward, Gubei community plans to continue improving youth volunteer service projects, mobilizing young volunteers, and addressing the needs of the community. (Edited by Yang Yingxue)
