Cultural performances enrich community development
The Dongzhuang community of Dayu subdistrict, located in Kuiwen, Weifang, Shandong province, has established a cultural and sports volunteer team, combining culture and lectures to empower grassroots governance and striving to create a livable and business-friendly community.
The community integrates high-quality cultural resources within its jurisdiction, establishing venues for cultural performances to support subsequent activities. By holding activities such as lectures, cultural performances, and intangible cultural heritage classes, residents can experience traditional culture and modern civilization up close, fostering a rich cultural atmosphere.
One star in this initiative is the cultural volunteer team. This talented team writes, directs, and performs original skits and other relatable cultural programs, which have been warmly received by the local populace. Members of the team have transformed from cultural enthusiasts to participants in community cultural governance, actively engaging in cultural performances, community building, and neighborly assistance.
The community also focuses on enriching the spiritual and cultural lives of its residents by preserving excellent cultural traditions. In addition to establishing six cultural and sports teams to create distinctive work brands, the community has also attracted over 500 cultural volunteers through intangible cultural heritage inheritors. These dedicated people consistently create new models for community cultural performances, conducting touring shows across all streets and communities in the district. For the past four years, the community has organized more than 50 folk performances, allowing residents to enjoy traditional festivals, preserving cherished memories, passing on folk culture, enhancing community identity, and boosting cultural confidence.
