Family trip to museum fosters history education
During the summer holiday, family trips to the museum of Ningyang county in Tai'an, Shandong province have become a trend, allowing children to appreciate antique pieces and enjoy the rich history of their hometown.
The museum has a collection of 10,251 relics, with over 800 pieces on display, including prehistoric artifacts, stone inscriptions, bronze ware and pottery.

A local surnamed Xue brought her 6-year-old daughter to the museum and admired the stone inscription made in the first year of the Longde reign (921) of the Later Liang Dynasty (907-923). When the little girl saw this 1.7-meter-tall and 2-meter-wide inscription, which was taller than her, she was fascinated by it. The parent was impressed by the relics on show as well.
"The reason I brought my daughter to the museum during the summer holiday was so that she could learn about Ningyang county's culture and history by seeing the valuable relics and finding beauty in our traditional culture," said the parent.
