Shandong's Binzhou zone explores new way to regulate farmers' market
The Binzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone (Binzhou ETDZ) in Shandong has been exploring new ways to ensure fair and healthy farmers' markets based on primary-level Party organizations.
They've taken measures to build markets with Party organizations at the primary level and advance the development of farmers' markets featuring regulations, credibility, relief and warmth, thereby enhancing the quality of life for locals.
The local government has established Party organizations in market regulation and corporate operations and service stations by Party members at fairs, which contribute to the upgrading of facilities and other elements, with an investment of over 3 million yuan ($ 414,000) for three farmers' markets in the area.
Moreover, they have inspired Party members to strengthen the role of demonstration in daily operation, aiming to introduce an open and fair farmers' market in the local community.
Law enforcement officers have also introduced an app to realize intelligent regulation with technologies such as real-time monitoring to monitor market operation conditions and achieve full coverage of intelligent supervision.
In three markets, high-standard rapid testing equipment has been installed to conduct daily sampling and rapid testing of market ingredients, with the test results publicly disclosed. After testing, the original records are archived. Ingredients that do not meet standards are rejected from the market, and measures are promptly taken to dispose of them and prevent them from entering other markets as well.
Next, Binzhou ETDZ will advance the development of open and fair farmers' markets focusing on education, supervision, and services, implementing practical measures to continuously stimulate market vitality, meet the needs of the public, and generate social benefits, economic gains, and public acclaim.
