Residents of Chengwu county, Heze, Shandong province, were surprised this year to find more small parks and green spaces had been built near their homes.
The project was part of efforts to provide recreational areas for local communities by adding gardens, squares, sculptures and facilities such as fitness equipment and benches to unused land or existing green space.
The construction of these parks not only provides public recreational spaces for residents but also beautifies the urban environment. Having a park right outside their door is no longer a dream but a reality for many residents.
In recent years, Chengwu county has been effectively utilizing urban demolition and relocation areas, corners, abandoned land, and idle land to plan and construct or renovate a series of distinctive parks, which have already been put into use. Through standardized construction and operation, these parks, both large and small, meet the fitness and recreational needs of residents while showcasing urban cultural features and preserving the city's history.
