Hospital in county in Shandong offers TCM treatment for public health

As summer temperatures rise, Xu Guiqing, a doctor from the second rehabilitation department of the First People's Hospital of Ningyang in Ningyang county, Shandong province has begun applying "sanfutie" - a therapeutic bandage filled with herbal medicine - to people who need it.

Xu consults with patients, checks their pulse, and prescribes treatment, working with other medical staff to apply the sanfutie.

Sanfutie is known to be effective for patients with issues such as a deficiency of yangqi - the warm element in the yin-yang balance, and low immune function.

"On July 15, we began applying sanfutie, with a total of four regular applications," Xu said.

One of the sanfutie beneficiaries shared that the treatment has significantly improved his immunity and sleep quality.

Xu also cautioned that while sanfutie is effective for treating winter ailments in the summer, it is not suitable for everyone, particularly those with acute conditions or allergies to the herbal patches.

The First People's Hospital of Ningyang has been providing sanfutie treatments for over 20 years, aiming to utilize the peak yang energy of summer to enhance the absorption and penetration of the medication, promoting health and wellbeing among residents during the hottest days of the year.
