Minor Heat, the 11th solar term of the year, began on July 6 this year and ends on July 21. It signifies that the hottest period of the year is approaching but has yet to arrive.
During Minor Heat, the skies radiate brilliance, summer clouds drift lazily, and lush greenery thrives. A gentle breeze carries the whispers of summer, fireflies light up the night, cicadas sing with fervor, and the fragrance of lotus flowers dances on the wind.
In Lingcheng, Dezhou, East China's Shandong province, it is tradition to eat dumplings during Minor Heat. Shaped like gold ingots, dumplings are considered delectable and appetizing. This custom symbolizes prosperity and good fortune.
