Ningjin leads in fitness equipment industry

Ningjin county, located in Shandong province, has emerged as a significant hub for the fitness equipment industry in China. With over 2,500 registered companies, it leads in the production of commercial fitness equipment. These companies manufacture a wide range of products, including aerobic, strength, and wellness equipment, totaling over 1,000 varieties across more than 400 series. This makes Ningjin county the largest commercial fitness equipment production base in the country.

Its products cover nearly 2,000 county-level cities nationwide, serving 50,000 fitness clubs and studios domestically. Accounting for over 70% of the domestic market, these products are also exported to more than 170 countries and regions, including the United States, European Union, and Japan. In 2023, the county achieved an industrial output value of around 12 billion yuan ($1.65 billion), an increase of 63 percent year-on-year. (Edited by Lin Li)
