Guanxian county in East China's Shandong province is holding an international precision procurement conference for its steel plate industry and products from June 26 to 28.

More than 100 buyers from over 35 countries and regions, including Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, and India, gathered in Guanxian county to learn about the local steel industry and the power of "manufacturing in Guanxian county".

The steel plate industry is a distinctive pillar industry of Guanxian, with 1,233 steel processing enterprises, over 35,000 employees, processing various types of steel plates totaling 16 million metric tons annually. Products are exported to more than 120 countries and regions in Southeast Asia, Africa, South America, and beyond.

Many renowned Guanxian steel plate products have been used in major projects at home and abroad. Guanxian county currently is home to the largest high-quality steel plate processing industry cluster in China and has become a demonstration base for the transformation and upgrading of high-quality steel plate foreign trade in Shandong.

Guanxian county is implementing a special action plan to extend, supplement, and strengthen the steel plate industrial chain, seeking to make the industry more high-end, intelligent, and green, as well as increasing its added value and market share.

Focusing on the green, low-carbon, and high-quality development of the steel plate industry, the local area is optimizing industrial processes, improving technological equipment, strengthening the comprehensive utilization of solid waste, implementing digital transformation, and promoting the green and intelligent development of the industry.

According to local statistics, the big event received 246 samples and intention orders, with an intended transaction amount of 18.11 million yuan ($2.5 million). (Edited by Xie Zhenzhen)
