Linyi's county acts to promote rural vitalization

Lanling county in Linyi city – in East China's Shandong province – has been promoting a raft of measures to build livable, business-friendly and beautiful villages.

The county is encouraging local households to apply for the status of "beautiful rural house", which centers around the beauty of courtyard, bedroom, kitchen, toilet and home style. As of now, the county is home to 42,718 beautiful rural houses.

In terms of the rural economy, the county highlights the courtyard economy to drive the entrepreneurship and employment of local women, with funds provided for eligible courtyard projects.

It has provided over 1.2 million yuan ($165,007) of support funds for the courtyard-related economy, benefiting more than 23,000 local women.

To meet the needs of different local women, the county has conducted 107 training activities this year on flexible employment sectors – including home storage, hand weaving, e-commerce and animal husbandry.

Moreover, each town or sub-district now has a dedicated street representing local family styles and culture and they have become hot spots to make a visit. 

Each unique family tradition and family story is said to be a beautiful calling card for each family, as well as a vivid carrier for guiding and motivating villagers to inherit and practice good family traditions. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
