Pavilion becomes top place to promote social stability
In Wucheng county in Dezhou city – located in East China's Shandong province – a small and unassuming pavilion is situated in front of the police station at Haowangzhuang town.
This has become a great place for residents to take a load off their feet and for the police there to tap into public opinion and to mediate conflicts.
The russet structure is appropriately called the Haohe pavilion, which means friendship and harmony.

Since the start of the year, the police station has mediated over 50 conflicts and disputes at the pavilion.
The chatting and the relaxed atmosphere there brings police-civilian relations closer and the police is now also using the pavilion as a platform to spread information on how to tackle fraud.
"They talk about the cases all day long and we've memorized the stories about the scammers," said a local.
In addition, the pavilion has become an excellent place for Haowangzhuang town to promote its management of social security.
As a result of the pavilion's success, plans are for Wucheng county to promote the experience with its other areas. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
