Heze's district boosts autumn grain output, harvest
To boost autumn grain production and the harvest, the Dingtao district of Heze city – in East China's Shandong province – has allocated funds of nearly 300,000 yuan ($41,071) to support compound soybean corn planting.
The district is providing free services to farmers – including coordinated prevention and control measures and tracking guidance – to ensure stable grain and soybean crops, as well as improved quality and efficiency.

A total of 8,000 mu (533 hectares) in Dingtao district is being used for compound corn and soybean planting, with one farmer, Zhang Nianchun, benefiting from the government's support.
Using drones and spraying equipment, farmers can carry out coordinated control measures that promote root development, prevent decline and enhance the growth and weight of the crops.
Zhang said that the spraying operations had saved him both time and money and he expects a great harvest as a result.
The Dingtao district agricultural and rural bureau has set up an agronomic service team to provide scientific guidance and control measures to farmers.
Experts have advised growers to remain vigilant against pests and disease during the critical growth period. (Edited by Jin Yongxue)
