Efforts in Shandong county yield green dividends
Dong'e county in Liaocheng city in East China's Shandong province is reaping the rewards of efforts being made in conservation and restoring the environment, as well as protecting the ecosystem.
In recent years, it's made great strides in prioritizing its ecological development and in establishing a beautiful and sustainable environment.

One of the standout achievements is the creation of the Dong'e Yellow River National Forest Park, a sprawling 2,446-hectare natural area that safeguards the river and which from the air offers a breathtaking view of an intricate blend of yellows and greens.
The implementation of the natural ecological protection program in the Yellow River Basin Dong'e section has also yielded tangible results.
In addition to that, Dong'e has established a number of greenbelts along the Yellow River, resulting in a great ecological landscape demonstration belt that boasts an impressive forest coverage rate of 48 percent.
By integrating ecological protection with high-quality development, Dong'e has established memorial forests, national parks and water conservation scenic areas, all of which contribute to the preservation of the environment and enrich the region's appeal.
As a result of all this work, Dong'e is said to have protected itself against any potential environmental hazards.
That's been done by employing green infrastructure within the flood control project, including the implementation of sand control barriers and flooding-resistant forests.
Furthermore, Dong'e has prioritized the development of tourism to turn their region into a sought-after ecotourism destination. (Edited by Jin Yongxue)
